Privacy Policy

Effective November 4, 2026 · VibeTemp LLC

The short version

  • We keep what Cetchup needs to work: your email to sign in, the name you pick, and the chats, messages and photos you send.
  • Catch me up sends a chat's messages, your friends' included, to Muse Spark, Meta's AI model. That never happens before you've said yes once and confirmed you're 18 or older.
  • Instagram and Snapchat catch-ups read only the chat you have open, only when you tap. Our server doesn't store those messages.
  • No ads, no trackers, and we don't sell your data.
  • Delete your account in the app and your messages, photos and catch-ups go with it.

1. Who we are

Cetchup is made by VibeTemp LLC, a company in Colorado, USA (“we” and “us”). This policy covers the Cetchup app for iPhone, our Android test app, and this website, cetchup.ai. If you have a question about it, email support@cetchup.ai.

2. What we collect

When you use Cetchup, our server keeps:

  • Your account. Your email address, which you sign in with using a one-time code, and when you signed up and last signed in.
  • Your profile. The name you choose and, if you add one, your profile photo.
  • Your chats. The chats you start or join, who is in them, the messages and photos you send, and how far you've read in each chat, so Catch me up knows what's new.
  • Catch-ups and answers. In Cetchup chats, the catch-ups and answers Muse Spark writes for you and the questions you ask, so the same catch-up isn't made twice. Only you can read yours.
  • Your people, blocks and reports. The people you add to Your people, the people you block, and any reports you file. A report includes a copy of the reported message and the person's name, so we can still review it if the message is deleted later.
  • Your plan. Your plan and, from Apple's signed purchase record, the product, its transaction numbers and when it ends. We don't get your payment details.
  • Your Muse Spark OK. That you agreed to send messages to Muse Spark and confirmed you're 18 or older, and when you did.
  • Usage counts. How many messages Muse Spark read for you each day, and for each Instagram or Snapchat catch-up, which app it was, how many messages it covered and when. These hold no message text. We use them for your plan's daily allowance and to limit abuse, along with simple records such as when you last tried an invite code.
  • Device and connection data. When the app talks to our server, our hosting provider records technical details such as your IP address, the app or device type and the time. Your sign-in sessions keep the IP address and device type they were started from.

Our server logs hold counts and error codes, such as how many messages a catch-up read. We don't write the text of your messages to our logs.

3. What we don't collect

  • No ads and no tracking. Cetchup shows no ads, uses no advertising ID, and doesn't track you across other apps or websites. The app has no analytics or crash-reporting tools in it.
  • Your contacts. Invite friends opens Apple's contact picker. Cetchup gets only the phone number you pick, to start a text message on your phone. It isn't uploaded.
  • Your location. Cetchup doesn't ask for it. Photos are re-encoded on your phone before they're sent, so the location and other details stored in the original photo stay behind.
  • Your calendar. Add to calendar asks iOS for permission to add events only, which can't read your calendar, and opens Apple's event editor already filled in. Nothing is saved until you save it there.
  • Your photo library. You choose photos with Apple's photo picker, so Cetchup only gets the ones you pick. Saving a chat photo asks for permission to add photos only.
  • Your Instagram or Snapchat password. You type it into their own page, and Cetchup never reads it.
  • Your card. Apple handles payment. We never see your payment details.

4. How Catch me up uses Muse Spark

Catch-ups and answers are written by Muse Spark, an AI model made by Meta. To make one, our server sends Meta:

  • for a catch-up, the messages you haven't read yet, plus up to 25 earlier messages for context;
  • for a question, your question and up to the chat's 800 most recent messages;
  • the names of the chat's members, your name, your time zone and the current time;
  • up to 6 of the newest photos among those messages, as smaller copies, with their captions.

It doesn't send your email address or your account ID. Messages from people you've blocked are left out.

When it happens

Before your first catch-up or question, the app tells you what goes to Muse Spark and asks you to confirm you're 18 or older. Nothing is sent until you agree, and our server refuses to make a catch-up without that yes. After that, Muse Spark reads a chat when you tap Catch me up or ask a question. On Plus and Pro, opening a chat with 15 or more unread messages also starts its catch-up in the background, so it's ready when you tap. On Free, it waits for your tap.

Your friends' messages, and yours

A catch-up covers everyone's messages in the chat, not just yours. In the same way, when another member of a chat uses Catch me up or Ask, the messages they can see, including yours, go to Muse Spark for them.

What Meta does with it

We use Muse Spark in what Meta calls Standard mode, and Meta doesn't train its AI on what it reads in that mode. Meta uses the messages to write the catch-up and sends it back to our server. We don't control how long Meta keeps what it receives. Meta's own terms and privacy policy for its developer platform cover that.

5. Instagram and Snapchat catch-ups

On iPhone, Instagram and Snapchat each have a tab in Cetchup that shows their own website. You sign in on their page. Cetchup never sees your password, doesn't read the site's cookies, and doesn't run anything on their sign-in pages. That sign-in stays in Cetchup on your phone until you sign it out in Settings or sign out of Cetchup.

On Android, our test app uses an accessibility service that you turn on yourself. It listens only to the Instagram and Snapchat apps and shows a small Cetchup bubble over a chat you have open.

Either way, Cetchup reads only the chat you have open, and only after you tap Catch me up and pick how many messages to read. It sends those messages to our server with the chat's title, the senders' names as the page shows them, the times when shown, and your name. Our server passes them to Muse Spark to write the catch-up.

Our server doesn't store those messages, the chat's title, the names or the catch-up. It keeps only a count for each catch-up: which app, how many messages, and when. On iPhone, the catch-up is kept on your phone (the last 3 for each chat) until you delete it or sign out. On Android, the only thing the reader keeps is your Snapchat name, if you enter it, so it can tell your messages from your friends'.

These catch-ups include your friends' messages, so use them with care.

6. What stays on your phone

To open fast and work offline, the iPhone app keeps your inbox, each chat's newest 400 messages, your last 3 catch-ups and 3 answers for each chat, and the photos you've recently seen. They're in the app's own storage, protected by iOS once your phone has been unlocked after a restart, and left out of backups. Your sign-in is kept in the iPhone's Keychain.

Signing out deletes all of it. Clear cache in Settings removes the messages and photos, and saved catch-ups stay until you delete them.

7. Who we share it with

We share data only with the companies that run Cetchup for us, and only what they need:

  • Supabase hosts our database, sign-in, file storage and server code. It holds the data described in What we collect.
  • Meta runs Muse Spark. It receives what's described in sections 4 and 5, only when a catch-up or answer is made.
  • Apple handles App Store purchases, subscriptions and TestFlight. When you buy a plan, the app gives Apple a random account number, not your email, so your purchase can be matched to your Cetchup account. If you test Cetchup through TestFlight, Apple may share with us what TestFlight shares with developers, such as crash reports, feedback you send, and your name and email if we invited you by email.
  • Resend sends the emails with your sign-in code, so it gets your email address. It also sends us a short notice when someone files a report, with no names or message text in it.

People in your chats see your name, your profile photo and what you send there. Profile photos are stored at a link that isn't listed anywhere, but anyone who has that exact link can open the photo. Photos sent in a chat can only be opened by that chat's members.

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising.

8. Where it's stored and for how long

Your data is stored with Supabase in the United States, in Amazon Web Services' us-east-1 region. If you use Cetchup from outside the United States, your data is sent to and processed in the United States.

  • Your account, profile, messages and photos: until you delete your account. Leaving a chat doesn't delete the messages you sent there; they stay for the other members. When the last person leaves a chat, the chat and its messages are deleted. For now, you can't delete a single message once it's sent.
  • Catch-ups and answers saved on our server: until you delete your account. They're also deleted when you block or unblock someone in that chat, when someone whose messages they read deletes their account, or when the chat is deleted.
  • Your plan, usage counts and Muse Spark OK: until you delete your account.
  • Reports: kept after the accounts involved are deleted, without the link to those accounts, for as long as we need them to keep Cetchup safe.
  • Logs: our hosting provider keeps its logs for a limited time under its own settings.

9. Deleting your account

In the iPhone app, open the You tab, tap Settings, then Delete account. The page lists what goes and what stays, then asks once more. If you use the Android test app or can't sign in, email support@cetchup.ai from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.

Deleting your account removes, right away:

  • your account, email address and sign-in sessions, your profile and your photo;
  • every message and photo you sent, in every chat;
  • your catch-ups and answers, and any catch-ups friends saved on our server that read your messages;
  • your chat memberships, your people, your blocks, your plan record, your usage counts and your Muse Spark OK;
  • any chat where you were the last member.

What stays:

  • Chats with other people. They keep going without you or your messages.
  • Reports filed by you or about you, without the link to your account.
  • Catch-ups friends kept on their own phones. Those are on their phones, not our server.
  • What Meta already received for earlier catch-ups, which Meta's terms cover.
  • Backup copies our hosting provider may keep for a limited time before they're replaced.

Deleting your account doesn't cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it in your Apple account settings, as explained on our Support page.

10. 18 and older only

Cetchup is only for people 18 and older, and so is Muse Spark. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think someone under 18 has an account, email support@cetchup.ai and we'll delete it.

11. Security

  • The app talks to our server over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
  • Database rules decide who can read what. You can only read chats you're in, and only post as yourself. Chat photos open only for the chat's members, through links that expire.
  • Our keys for Meta and for admin access to our server stay on the server. They're never in the app.
  • On iPhone, your sign-in is in the Keychain, and the copy of your chats is protected by iOS and left out of backups.

No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise your data will never be exposed. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

12. Your choices and rights

  • Change your name or photo, or remove your photo, in Settings.
  • Sign Instagram or Snapchat out of Cetchup in Settings.
  • Block people, and report messages or people.
  • Delete catch-ups saved on your phone, or clear the cache, in Settings.
  • Delete your account, as described above.
  • To take back your OK for Muse Spark, email us. We'll remove it, and the app will ask again before anything is sent.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it. Email support@cetchup.ai from the address on your account and we'll help. We won't treat you differently for asking.

13. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new version number and date. If a change affects how we use your data in a significant way, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
